The HackSydney conference, inaugurated in 2022 at the iconic Art Gallery of New South Wales in the heart of Sydney, successfully continued its momentum with another impactful event in 2023. The opening keynote for the inaugural 2022 event was presented by the esteemed AI scientist Professor Toby Walsh. The conference attracted over 300 attendees who engaged in two days of compelling technical talks from local and international speakers. Representatives from more than 20 different countries contributed to the diverse and dynamic atmosphere.
In 2023, the conference expanded its offerings with the introduction of four additional villages, each hosting talks, workshops, and Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions. These villages, namely OffSec, AI, RF Hacking, and Careers, provided attendees with specialized insights and hands-on experiences in various domains. The inclusion of these villages enhanced the overall conference experience, offering a broader spectrum of knowledge and networking opportunities.
Following the success of the inaugural event and the significant growth in 2023, the Hack.Sydney conference solidified its position as a key player in the international infosec conference arena. The two-day events showcased outstanding technical discussions, and the diverse audience continued to contribute to the conference's vibrant atmosphere.
Both the 2022 and 2023 conferences were made possible by the generous support of Platinum, Gold, and Silver sponsors, underscoring their instrumental role in establishing Hack.Sydney as a prominent fixture in the global tech community. The 2022 and 2023 events culminated with major networking gatherings, with the 2022 edition hosted at Sydney's Metro Theatre.
